The 3rd edition of the annual Bioengineer Research Day will take place on Tuesday 11th of February 2014 at the Université Libre de Bruxelles.



Initiated by PhD students from the EIB, this event is dedicated to all bioengineer Master and PhD students across Belgium. It aims to cover the wide variety of research topics in the field of applied bio-sciences and bioengineering, including agronomy, bioinformatics, environment, food industry and biotechnology. As such, this joint venture represents a rare opportunity for students, researchers and academics to meet, share ideas and set up potential inter-laboratories collaborations. Through the day, selected research projects conducted by the PhD students will be presented during ​talk and poster sessions. We particularly encourage junior researchers to present their work in front of a larger audience and submit it to questions and comments, in preparation of future international congresses. Prizes for the best poster and oral presentation will be awarded.

On this occasion, Master students will also be given the opportunity to discover the research scope available for bioengineers, and to ask any question they might have. It is also a unique chance to find a topic for a master thesis or maybe consider a doctoral thesis.



For the last session open to debate, a panel of bioengineer PhDs will come and testify about their experience and career perspectives after the PhD. Finally a drink will close the event.
